Sponsored by the Leon County Division of Tourism/Visit Tallahassee and Challenger Learning Center (CLC), the Tallahassee Young Knights (TYK) Chess Club is organizing a USCF-rated chess tournament in April 2026 at CLC, located in the heart of downtown Tallahassee. A six-round Blitz tournament will be offered as a side event.

Format: 6SS, G/3, inc 2 (6 Swiss rounds, 3 min w/ 2 sec increment in each move)
Section: Open
Check in: 3:00pm
Round Times: 1st round 3:30pm, ASAP thereafter. Two half point byes are allowed in any rounds before the start of Round 3.
Registration fee: $25 online by 4/4/2026 (with $10 discount if payment is received by 3/1/2026). On-site payment is acceptable with $5 late fee.
Prizes: $80 + trophy 1st, $60 2nd, $40 1st U1400, $40 1st U800
Notes: Active USCF membership is required. You are strongly encouraged to bring your own chess sets and clocks (a limited number will be provided by the organizers).
