Name: Suncrest Middle School Chess League Tournament  
Desc: A team’s score is based on the top 4 performing players per team. All players on a team must be from the same school. The maximum number of players on a team is 8. If a school has or more players, then the school must form multiple teams. If a school has multiple teams, then each team should have at least 4 players • Each team match date will play four (4) rounds with team-modified Swiss pairings (team members will not be paired with each other, unless necessary). The West Virginia Scholastic Chess Association is pleased to announce the beginning of the Newly Revised Chess League for 2025-26. The WVSCA will manage the chess league, and the United States Chess Federation (USCF) will rate the games. The matches will be held at the following location. Further Details will be forthcoming. September 20 at Suncrest Middle School, Morgantown, WV October 11 at Saint Francis Elementary School Parish Center, St. Albans, WV. December 6 at Saint Francis Elementary School Parish Center, St. Albans, WV January TBA 2026 at John Adams Middle School, Charleston, WV February TBA 2026 at Simpson Elementary, Bridgeport, WV SUBJECT TO CHANGE Trophies will be awarded to top team(s) and individuals as announced at the site. ****** IMPORTANT ****** WHAT TO BRING TO TOURNAMENT: chess clock, and pen/pencil. MS/HS Section IS required to record moves. CHECK-IN: 9:00 – 9:45am Saturday. You must be checked in to be paired in first round. Check-in immediately upon entering the building. Coaches may check-in whole team. REGISTRATION/ENTRY FEES: Advance entry PREFERED. Online entry preferred: at https://www.chessregister.com/events. Entry fee is $10.
