Name: Port Townsend Chess Spring Student Tournament  
Desc: Held on the historic downtown waterfront in Port Townsend. Restaurants, shops, a park, the beach, a playground, and parking within easy walking distance.

Location: The Cotton Building: 607 Water St, Port Townsend, WA

Entry Fee: $25.

Check-in: 9:00am - 9:30am. Late arrivals may not be paired in first round.

Rounds: 4 Rounds: 10am; 11:15am; Lunch; 1pm; 2:15pm. Swiss pairing. No Elimination.

Time Control: G/30 +0 from first move; Notation required until one player has 5 min on the clock, then both may stop.

Participation / Ratings: Open to all students in grades 3 - 12 as of the 2024-25 school year. Limited to 50 players.

3 sections: Elem 3-5; MS 6-8; HS 9-12.

This is a NW Chess (NWSRS) rated tournament.

School Teams: If three or more players from the same school are registered it will be a "school team." The combined highest total points for the top three school players in each section will determine the top school teams.

Points: Win = 1; Loss = 0; Draw = ½; Bye = ½ if odd number of players requires byes. USCF standard tiebreak systems used.

Prizes: Top 3 players in each section get US Chess Federation Tournament Chess Set; Top School Teams in each section get Tournament Plaque.

Equipment: Bring a digital clock if you have one.

Score sheets provided. Bring a couple of pencils.
