Event Summary

Name: Palm Beach Chess Quads - North Palm Beach (May)
Desc: This registration is for the Open Quads at the Library in North Palm Beach. Quads will be formed by highest to lowest ratings, the intent of Quads will be to provide participants with players of similar rating to compete against in three games of G/55. Unrated Adult players need to contact us if they wish to participate, minimum rating of 1000 USCF required (current USCF membership required). If you have any questions about this event please email: NMbtillis@gmail.com. Registration closes 8:00 PM the day before the event, online registration only. In the event we have an uneven number for a quad a swiss pairing will be created for the bottom rated group. Tournament director’s discretion is used for players close to the rating of 1000 to be able to compete. Round times are sharp at 9:30AM, 12:00PM, and 2:00PM all players must exit premises by 4:30PM. Lunch break built in between rounds 1 and 2, Subway walking distance across the street. This tournament is limited to 30 participants and registration will be closed when we hit 30 registered players. COVID-19 Safety Measures As Palm Beach Chess brings back over the board chess, these are the measures we will take to keep players safe at our events: Comply with applicable laws and guidelines. Anyone who is sick or has symptoms (cough, fever or chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, body aches, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, diarrhea, headache, nausea or vomiting) may not attend our events. You may be asked to submit a temperature check. Masks will be required to attend our events. Masks can be replaced by face guards for people who have a medical condition that prevents masks usage. We may ask there be no spectators in the playing rooms where space may be limited. The boards will be spread out from each other as much as possible, up to 6 ft. Provide wipes and cleaning supplies; encourage players regular cleaning of pieces, tables, etc. Encourage social distancing guidelines. Tournaments may be limited to a certain number of players (In this case 30). If players or spectators do not adhere to these measures, it may lead to withdrawal from our tournament events. We want to build an environment where everyone feels safe. Please be considerate of others. If you do come to an event, you do so at your own risk. Anyone competing or participating in our tournaments waive liability of Palm Beach Chess and the host site of the tournament. Registration is confirmation of this understanding. Note on Prizes: All prizes will be paid out through PayPal to the email that registered for the event. If you would like the money sent to another email please let us know. No spectators for this event and no walk ins. We have a contract with the library and with limited space we need to follow their set guidelines. Thank you for your understanding.
